Timeguard is a Theben group company and used to be known as Smiths Industries Environmental Controls Company. Timeguard are specialists in time, light, safety and climate control products. Their focus is on products which are economical and effective for the user, therefore, the overriding theme of their new products development has been Plug & play.
Likewise, they pride themselves on manufacturing products which are great for the installer, with ease of fitting being critical. They still maintain a small manufacturing presence in the UK. Meanwhile the vast majority of the research and development within these shores. Environmental awareness also remains at the heart of their business.
The company was the first company in the UK to manufacture and launch a single gang RCD switched socket and they also made the first economy 7 meters. By the 1980’s they had pioneered electronic heating controllers with boost functions, as well as being first to market with affordable time control for domestic use.
